BIOETHC 6020: Clinical Bioethics
Mock Bioethics Consults: MIDTERM REPORT: Is it ethically permissible to deliver health information to the patient's adult son, as he states is common practice in their religion/culture, rather than directly to the patient? FINAL REPORT, CASE 1:Is it ethically permissible to intubate a patient with a moderate chance of recovery after treatment, despite her documented living will stating that she would not want heroic measures in case of irreversible, terminal illness? FINAL REPORT, CASE 2: Is it ethically permissible to continue to administer resuscitation on a terminal patient despite the assessment that CPR is clinically futile? Is it ethically permissible to place a DNAR even though the minor patient and parent wish for her to stay full code?
